When Gene Taylor announced the home and home with Eastern Washington before he left for Iowa, he stated that NDSU was changing the scheduling philosophy for the future to home and home series with high level FCS programs. This was because most FBS teams will not even consider playing NDSU in the near future because of our success against FBS teams.

The talk sounded like the only teams that may consider NDSU in the future are the very successful Pac-12 and SEC teams. The question Matt Larsen will have to ask himself is does the benefit of playing these tougher FBS teams outweigh the long travel, out or traditional recruiting area, and higher possibility of a loss.

It will be interesting how Matt Larsen handles future schedules for NDSU. 2015 and 2016 are set. I would not be surprised if NDSU gets a few teams from the northeast region of the U.S. on future schedules for home and homes or guarantee games. His connections to those teams from when he was at Stony Brook may help to open the doors to some games with teams from that area of the country.

True but if Coach Cain can successfully bring a difference maker out of Cal every year or two I can see how it could be a win to play a Stanford or Cal or somebody like that. Also would be great to get into the Carolinas especially if we get more Molick Scott types and also helps with Florida parents as they could drive to a game.
