HUGE weekend. Beat Boise and Oregon State on the road.
Gabe, we had the 4 recruiting class last year.

OK. I admit, I don't know a lot about wrestling, much less how Intermat scores their rankings, but checking the Intermat update this morning, I find NDSU tied with Boise State at 21. Sounds about right. But Oregon State is 33. How does this happen?
Going into the weekend, Oregon State was 20, Boise State was 21, NDSU was 22, Air Force 31. Boise State is now 2-4, after NDSU handled them 26-15. NDSU squeaked by Oregon State 19-17. Oregon State handled Air Force 30-3. Oregon State is 8-4, certainly better than Boise State's 2-4.
Yet this week's Intermat rankings have
Boise State 21 Maintaining their ranking after being owned by NDSU 26-15
NDSU rising from 22 to 21. OK.
Air Force rising from 33 to 30 after being decimated by Oregon State 30-3, and winning OK 23-14 over Southern Oregon, #6 in NAIA.
Oregon State dropping from 20 to 33, that's 13 rankings after narrowly losing to a top 25 team and soundly beating #33 Air Force.
Air Force moves up, Oregon State falls precipitously. Seems to me Oregon State got screwed bigtime by this week's Intermat polls.
Can anyone who follows wrestling closely and understands Intermat rankings explain?
This from "The Daily Barometer," Oregon State's student newspaper. Much more thorough coverage than the InForum article, though I suspect the Oregon State reporter was actually taking notes at the dual. Also interesting to get the opponent's perspective. I appreciated the comments on how bonus points are scored as I didn't have a clue as to how that worked.

"Oregon State entered Sunday’s home matchup with No. 22 North Dakota State riding a four-dual winning streak and a decisive 30-3 victory against Air Force one day prior."
It looks like Intermat's rakings are based on team points they project to be earned at the national tournament. You could get volatile results from that for a number of reasons. 33 wrestlers in each weight-class qualify for the tournament. If a wrestler's ranking falls below 24 in their weight class they'd go from expecting to score some or a team point to zero. You earn more points for advancing in the championship bracket than in the consolation bracket as well so you could get some lumpiness with individual wrestlers ranked in the mid-teens in their weight class (though there are mitigating factors).
Another factor may be the quality of the conference at particular weights. 29 automatic qualifying spots are divided among the conference tournaments based on the quality and depth of the field in each conference at each weight. The Pac-12 isn't a great wrestling conference so if intermat's committee adjusted their estimate about how many spots they'd be allocated in a particular weight class an Oregon State wrestler could have gotten caught in the wash.
Team points in the national tournament are less about depth and more about great individual wrestlers, so if a team has a bunch of good wrestlers in their line up but not much in the way of elite wrestlers they'd be more likely to bounce around in the ratings the way that intermat calculates it.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
