Philip Nelson leaving the Gophers

A beneficiary of Nelson's transfer may be Roseville's QB - Jacques Perra - 6' 3" 210 lbs.
He was StarTrib player of the year and had been showing interest in NDSU earlier in the recruiting season.
I had wondered if he was going to be a back-up plan for the Bison if Easton Stick's recruitment
did not work out. Perra already has a PWO from the Gophers and visits them this weekend.
Perhaps he will get some scholly money now.
SDSU and No Iowa also talking to him.

If kill didnt like him because he wasnt much of a run-between the tackles runner (kfans term...not mine) it doesnt seem to me that he would be a good fit with bohl. Unless bohl is taking whatever he can get right now.

NDSU QBs run because they can. I don't think Vigen's pro style offense is predicated on a QB being a runner. This kid might be looking for exactly that kind of offense. Turn around hand the ball off or drop back and throw. It sounds like he didn't fit or want to play that read option offense.

Forget his stats for a moment, which aren't that impressive and I am not talking about yardage more about the efficiency, Wyoming would be exactly what he is looking for. Vigen repeatedly says he wants that 175/175 split between running and passing but knows the difference is the next 75 yards and doesn't care where it comes from whether running or passing. Something like that. Whether Nelson can perform our not is one thing, but it sounds like it falls right into something he would want.
