CK came here as a position coach which was a step down from co-DC. Not all coaching moves have to be up or lateral if it puts you in a better position.

I agree with you on this. You only have to look at our new Head coach for an example similar to this.

He does not have a history of prolonged success at any level at OC. Neither did Vigen, but as all of us know he struggled. Our success has afforded us the luxury of finding someone with experience with a west coach type of offense.

Your right Kermit. SIU could be in a tailspin with the coaches leaving in Bubba and Randy. Security at NDSU is much better and Randy hasn't forgotten his roots in North Dakota.

Yeah, but this is worse than having to wait until Christmas morning to open presents. Too much on the line here!

I agree with you on this. Based on Kermit's comments, i am now strongly suspecting my speculation is outright incorrect......

I believe that Hedberg is close friends with Scott Fuchs. Fuchs and Kenni Burns also made "lateral" moves from SIU to NDSU.

    Initial thoughts:

    * This guy has the credentials. I like the local ties even though it kind of surprises me that he would be coming to NDSU and not UN_ with Bubba.
    * SIU is getting gutted. Tough times ahead for the 'stache. Alternatively, an opportunity to re-tool...
    * position coach to position coach may be just fine here. Gets to come home, and gets an almost certain pay raise.

Plus gets to be part of "The Program" in FCS. That is a big deal IMHO.
