Default Sam Ojuri- All Time List

Did I hear in the pregame interview that Sam has a shot at cracking the third spot in all-time NDSU rushing? I can't find any good all-time lists to see exactly where he ranks or how close he is to the top of Bison immortality. This seems like something that should be in bisonaudit's wheelhouse.

I think most understand how good he is but the fact he has compiled such impressive statistics during a career where he has never been a "feature" back is astounding. The humility which he approaches interviews and deflecting credit to everyone around him is refreshing in an age of "get mine" athletes.

Anyway, I think he deserves a thread acknowledging where he sits among the all-time greats.

I tell you what. The one I'm impressed with is John Crockett. Despite being a FBS talent, he is willing to wait his turn at #1 on the 2 deep. When he gets into the game, he just kills it.

Sam Ojuri is the most underrated RB I've ever seen.

Didn't think we'd see his career turn out like this when he missed 2010. He's just a stud!!!

Dug up Sam's rushing yardage off GoBison.

    2009 144
    2010 0
    2011 1,105
    2012 1,047
    2013 1,239
    Total 3,535

Needs 154 yds. to reach third leading rusher in Bison history.

I think Sam will be getting an invite this spring to a camp. I just think his running style lends so well to the next level. I think we don't really know everything he can do because he is so smooth. He hits holes at the right time and just slips by guys rather than putting a lot of moves on. He has become such a quiet runner. When he started at NDSU, I thought he danced around too much but he doesn't give anything back now. He takes his momentum forward and keeps it going forward. He is strong enough to break through the arm tackles and can drag guys for a couple of yards. I am very impressed he has come so far. Just think how far he could go if it was his full time job. Someone will take a chance and I wouldn't be surprised to see him on a practice squad next season.

No doubt that Crockett is good, but this demonstrates the fact that people have overlooked Ojuri his entire career (he's no Crockett... he's no McNorton... he's no Paschall...). The fact is that Ojuri has more long runs this season in addition to more ypc.

He's got more yards than Simdorn and Satter fer pete's sake! He has stealthily entered the hall of elite at NDSU... inner circle level.

I think Sam is a really great RB. Despite sharing carries he has put up some nice numbers. With that said, I believe in terms of historic numbers it's important to look at how many games were played to get to these numbers. All the players on the team this year and the past few years have the benefit of playing literally an entire extra season of games.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I do know that NDSU teams in the 90's when Jake Morris played, or the 2000's when Kyle Steffes played did not play many playoff games. In fact, Kyle played no playoff games that I know of.

Don't want to sound like a downer, these guys are special. Just wanted to point out how many games they have played to hit those numbers.

YPC trumps all, imo. Anyone have the yards per carry for the top ten list of career yardage?
