Under Coach Bohl in his 11th year, the Bison have gone undefeated at 15-0 with a big road win against defending Big 12 champions, Kansas State, in their opening game of the season, and a big win over Clemson in the FCS National Championship.
    Already beating Clemson.

What ruined D2 was schollys getting lowered. I don't see that happening in FCS, no one has even suggested it or tried to get to a vote. Until the BCS thing gets sorted out, we are where we need to be, and, again, why give up a playoff for a true National Title to play in one crappy bowl game?????

The reality is that the FCS isn't a great fit for NDSU either...we are stuck in the middle. Both sides make relevant points, I'd love to see this top of the FCS and bottom of the FBS merger happen that some talk about because then and only then we would have what I would call the proper fit.
Yep. We're an outlier in just about every way. We're small for our mission, and advanced for our size. And we're in bumfk nowhere in terms of conference geography. An easy way to find out how unique we are is to head over to the Carnegie Foundation website and do an institution lookup on us. There will be 8 boxes you can check to run a search for similar institutions out of the 2,883 other 4-year schools in their database. It takes 2 checkmarks to eliminate all of them(undergrad profile and research level). Play around with the boxes to see versions of our "peers". It doesn't take long to figure out how much of an oddity we are.

And sorry for confusing UCF and USF a couple pages back.

Once again, nobody has a plan. Just a delusion. Lets all thank our lucky stars the FBS crowd does not run this institution or we would be loathed in our own state, broke, athletics would be in shambles, and under investigation. If you want to compare our Alma mater to other institutions, compare it by enrollment, institution budget, athletic budget, region population. Where do we stand then? App State won three in a row too, who are their peers?
Psychologically speaking this is all about some fan status over institution status. They dont care about the athletics. they are willing to sacrifice some athletics for the sake of their precious status. The fans want to say they are at the highest level for the sake of some misguided inner pride they can't gets over. They were teased by UN_ fans for too long in the 90s or 2000s, or The hockey crowd boasts it plays at the highest level and it bothers them. It's the same people who struggle driving a minivan because they are filled with selfish pride. A convoluted self image, they think they are less if the break down and drive a mom-mobile. They don't feel comfortable in their own skin so to speak. A move to FBS does nothing for NDSU. An increased budget is offset by the costs of being FBS. I want what's best for NDSU, so do the stewards of the University. They say we wait. So that is where we will stay for now. I will continue to enjoy Bison athletics regardless of level and a big shame on you to those who degrade this excellent University with your venom and hate. The D2 label that the haters keep using is exactly what they think of NDSU now. Evry win in football has an asterisk attached. They view NDSU as a joke. Not much different than the extreme UN_ fans do. Freud, out!
