Isn't that essentially run and shoot? I thought the run and shoot originally started as a pistol like formation and always has 3+ WRs with motion.

But I wasn't thinking the read option, I know they do some of that, but I seem to remember some real, actual veer being called a la GSU, I just don't remember it out of the wishbone.

I think at some point we are just getting into an issue of semantics. I am not sure.

If you go back to the 80s/90s, the Run and Shoot was originally 4 WR, QB under center. This is what Houston ran when Warren Moon was there, and Detroit for most of Barry Sanders' career. U of Houston ran that as well. I don't doubt that someone now runs the same concepts, just with the QB in a pistol or shotgun formation, but that is not the original concept.
