    Jon Tharaldson? With a name like that, there might be some pressure to go to UMary. Edit: Or is his last name Tharaldsen? I've seen it both ways.

    He has to be one of the top recruits in North Dakota though. 6-2, 210, plays WR and throws the shot 60' and a good basketball player? Not many athletes around like that.

    Beachy savors hurdles three-peat

    Jaelin Beachy of Staples-Motley dominated the girls’ 100-meter hurdles, finishing in a personal-best 14.90 seconds. It was her third consecutive title in the event.

    “It’s just surprising, looking back, to think I could do that three years in a row,” said a teary-eyed Beachy, who will run track at North Dakota State next year.

    Rosemount senior and future NDSU trackster, Payton Otterdahl, won both the shot and discus - he threw the shot over 61 feet.

    According to the Star Tribune Payton Otterdahl is the Gatorade Track and Field athlete of the year in Minnesota.
    Winning the shot put as mentioned at 61-5, and also the discus at 173-6 for MN 2A.
