Some of these teams remind me of one of the Most Interesting Man commercials.
"If they were to punch you in the face, you would have to fight off the strong urge to thank them. They are the NDSU Bison, the most interesting team in the world."

Again yesterday listening to 810 sports radio in KC on the way home from work the KSU segment mentioned NDSU. They were discussing the Cat's dominating win over ISU and one guy says, 'how can they dominate ISU and lose to North Dakota State? Another guy piped in immediately with, "North Dakota State would handle Iowa State easily!"

The NDSU mentions have been spread out but the Stan Weber segments are really good if you like insight into KSU. Weber is a former QB for KSU and also has a son on the KSU team.
The Border Patrol Blitz usually has some good info, as well.
I'll try to post the specific podcasts when I find them.

One of the posters in that thread brings up an interesting scenario. He said NDSU deserves a bowl game.
I got to thinking and come up with this hypothetical situation. What if the rules were modified in the FCS to say that the #1 seed for the FCS playoffs would have the option to play the tournament or the skip out of the playoffs and accept a bowl bid. What would be NDSU's decision, what would our fans want? Would our fans travel better to a national championship game or a bowl game? What would look better on NDSU's resume. National Champion or (insert sponsor) bowl winner?
Personally, I think it would depend heavily on the bowl bid offered. If it was a BCS bowl game, then I don't think there would be much question. NDSU should choose the bowl game. However, if it would be lower tier bowl game against a mid-major opponent, then I would say take the playoffs.
What does everyone else think?

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie

Thing that still cracks me up, is I still am not sure they understand we KNEW we would win which is a big reason we were all there.....PowerCatPride
I have been to a lot of games over the years, and I have NEVER seen (at least in terms of a non-conference foe) a sea of Green and Yellow like I saw on that dreaded night we lost that heartbreaker. NDSU's fans are absolutely fantastic. It must be similar to what other teams feel when they see a sea of purple swarming their stadium before a big game.
As interesting/intriguing as that sounds I would have to pass. The only way to gather enough recognition that way would to be in a BCS bowl game and they would never give a FCS team that kind of invite (not that the NCAA would allow a FCS school go to a ANY bowl game anyway). Otherwise we are just playing against some 8-4 team, and if we won FBS people would just say that was our 1 out of 100 lucky win. The FCS playoffs are the way to go, the only really true way to become a national champ.
From the movie THE PROGRAM
Regent Chairman: This is not a football vocational school. It's an institute for higher learning.
Coach Winters: Yeah, but when was the last time 80,000 people showed up to watch a kid do a damn chemistry experiment? Why don't you stick the bow-tie up your ass?
