The YSU game was probably one of Sticks best accuracy wise and he didn't get much help from the receivers to show it. Way too many drops!
He had 10 incompletions in 23 attempts. 2 were flat out easy drops by Babicz and Cain. Another was a slightly less egregious drop by Watson. And another was one where Shep lost awareness of where his feet were and had a toe out of bounds as he caught it.
That's off the top of my head but that only leave 6 incompletions left.
Two of those six were pretty certainly on Easton - one of them was just overthrown on a deep ball just short of the end zone where (Cain I think) had a step on the defender. The other was over the head of either Dunn or Brooks out in the left flat. Got to re-watch the game to come up with the other four.
It was fun watching some of Ross' clips. Stick is just a stud and he is fun to watch. He made some great downfield throws 40-50 yard throws fairly easily. I will definitely enjoy watching him the rest of the season.
As a side note I used to complain so much about the play calling during Jensen and Wentz, but the play calling over the past few years has been very good.
If it flies it dies.
Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.
Looking SHARP this game!
