This is not good hopefully he can hang on at #3 again, but he needs to get to #2 after this year or it will be the end of the road.

There was a trade market for him and likely still is. When they drafted Herbert last year there were reports that multiple teams reached out interested in trading for Easton. Getting an actual preseason to show him off would be huge this fall... hopefully it'll happen and hopefully he shines. It's pretty clear the Chargers aren't the place for him if he's ever going to break out.
