NDSU v UNI Score Prediction Thread
I've heard a lot about how this might be a close game. While I agree that UNI will be the best team we face from here on out, and that they do have a chance to beat us, I think it is very unlikely that they will come within 14 points of us, as long as our Offense protects the football.
For perspective, lets look at the offense we faced last week and compare them to UNI:
SDSU Offense (Week 5):
Points Per Game 28.8
FIRST DOWNS 93
RUSHING YARDAGE 839
PASSING YARDAGE 1096
TOTAL OFFENSE 1935
PENALTIES-Yards 27-255
TIME OF POSSESSION/Game 29:08
3RD-DOWN Conversions 22/66
UNI Offense (Week 5):
Points Per Game 35.0
FIRST DOWNS 78
RUSHING YARDAGE 808
PASSING YARDAGE 905
TOTAL OFFENSE 1713
PENALTIES-Yards 23-213
TIME OF POSSESSION/Game 30:40
3RD-DOWN Conversions 21/51
So, UNI has a whole touchdown difference on their points per game, but they are less of a potent offense in every other category. This means they probably have more big strike plays, and the Tampa-2 that the Bison plays is specifically designed not to let that up. Plus our defense is just freaking awesome.
The wild card is our offense. If they play like last week, I think UNI's defense is much better than SDSU's, so are not likely to put up 20. However, if Brock plays like he is capable of, we can easily put up 30, I think, especially in the dome.
Therefore, my score prediction is Bison 34, UNI 9. We hold the Pansies to just 3 field goals.
