    Default Joe Haeg torn MCL

I've heard a rumor (from a decent source) that Joe Haeg tore his MCL at K-State and that Jack Plankers will be starting at RT for the Ferris St. and Delaware St. games at the very least. Torn MCLs are usually 3-6 week injuries depending on severity. Plankers is a mammoth of a human being and has spent a year in the weight training system. I think all will be fine.
Now this is the law of the prairie
As old and as true as the sky
And the Bison that keep it will prosper
And the Bison that break it will die
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk
This law is the final word:
For the strength of the Herd is the Bison
And the strength of the Bison is the Herd.

Coach Vigen told us about Haeg at Teammakers today. It happened on the last drive and he continued to play.

Hopefully a minor tear then, one which they can just remove the torn part with no repair surgery necessary.

Did he mention expected time out? Any other injuries?

I think he said 3-4 weeks. He did not mention any other injuries.

Considering the result and how much the o-line just dominated at that point, that is epic.

Irregardless of severity, these are not fixed with surgery. They will scar in. If grade 1 or 2 then should be back in about 3 weeks. A hinged MCL brace is usually what people need to stabilize and he should be fine.

    Just flat out tough.

What's Beck's status, sorry if it is covered in another thread - I know he hit his shoulder on the Superman play.

Not that there is any good time for a small injury (I'm sure nothing about these boys is small*) but this is absolutely perfect timing to get Plankers some experience. 2 games against easier teams to improve and prepare for the SDSU game if Haeg isn't back by then. Will give the line even more depth for later in the season. Sucks to hear about the injury but that's a gutty performance by him to stay in the game.

I am so sick of the Bison already. Win this, win that, blah, blah, blah. I'd really, really like to know how they do it. I swear they have to be the luckiest sob's on the planet. Just sick of this bs, just fed up.

If it was severe enough, it would need to be replaced, wouldn't it? As for removing part of it, that is what I had done my senior year during to season with my ACL. They removed about 2/3's of it, but did not otherwise "repair" it. Maybe they do things differently now and just leave it alone, or it is different scenario. You would know better than I, so I will defer to you.

"Irregardless", I will stick with my specialty!!
