I have been messing with my mother the last couple days telling her that I have been hearing the rumble of thunder to the North the last couple days (remember I live in Sioux Falls) with it worsening each day. She has been thinking I have been serious and since she is in Devil's Lake right now, my brother in Fargo has been playing along about how bad it is. I even hinted about it moving south today, and she did not catch on. so, I sent her this e-mail this morning:
"I think the rumbling we have heard the last couple days was just a precursor to the storm of the century beginning today. The forecast is calling for a steady stream of energy flowing from Fargo, south through Sioux Falls, down to Omaha, then Lincoln, and into Kansas. Rumor has it Kansas folks are boarding up there houses to protect their children from seeing the utter devastation that awaits in north Kansas. It is clearly stirring up the animals, and I could have sworn I heard the sound of thundering hooves this morning.
The warnings in Kansas are in place until tomorrow night."
Now, she is pretty darn smart, but she is a UND grad. Will she catch on?
