    OFFICIAL BISONVILLE SPONSOR OF:
Tatanka™ brand humor. Gary Bettman's incompetence. The process of recommending a task force to recommend a process to be suggested to another task force, and of meetings called to discuss future meetings. The 21.3% of teh university students that, unlike Tatanka, are online-only, and the 15+% that never step foot in North Dakota. And hating Detroit...

What happens now? Glad to see them gone, cuz they always suck, but who replaces them and what if OU leaves?

This makes absolutely no sense unless UMKC is being kicked out, they want to move to an easier conference or the Summit is about to collapse.

So the WAC is going to be:

    UMKC
    Seattle
    California State University, Bakersfield
    Utah Valley University
    Grand Canyon University
    University of Texas–Pan American
    Chicago State University
    New Mexico State

Can't see New Mexico State sticking with that group. UMKC's travel costs are going to double.

Some pretty good comments on this short blurb about UMKC going to the WAC - my favorite:
    Anonymous said...
UMKC should join the WAC, the Summit is dead once Oakland and others leave (yes, that is actually happening)... At least the WAC provides better travel destinations and universities that are proven to be progressive.

Denver will likely be going BACK to the WAC soon, when it rains it pours... Summit League will be donezo purely because of geography!

That would bring us down to 9 teams, 8 if oakland leaves. I said originally we should have tried to get Chicago state but apparently they felt really confident in our conference. Now Chicago State is in the WAC too? Would have been a good travel partner for WIU. Looks like we passed. Beggers can't be choosers. What other options are there?
