That Wentz kid is going to be fun to watch. He has all the tools to be one of the best the Bison have ever had.

Dont forget Bo Liekus at safety. Very talented kid out of Nebraska
Kid runs a legit 4.4 from what I've read.

The d-line runs 9- 10 deep and there isn't much drop off. Hardie is a stud as a nickel pass rusher in the middle

Dudzik and Shepherd having played corner gives us great versatility in passing situations.

Keep the coaches and good recruiting and we're set. What impresses me is how were doing it by sticking to our traditional recruiting area including several North Dakota players

Join the Green and the Gold Collective to take Bison football to the next level. Starts at $10 a month

The Green and The Gold Collective is excited to announce our #DriveToFive membership campaign. The goal of this campaign is to get to 500 monthly members. Reaching this goal will help us provide financial support to NDSU student athletes, including every returning member of the football team that saw action on the field last year!

North Dakota always has very good recruits that are way under the national recruiting radar. It's kind of impressive for how small the population is.

QB: Wentz is a Freshman, was 8-8 and in complete control. Future is very bright. McGinnis is redshirting. Position is just loaded with Brock only a Junior and absolutely dominating.

RB: Are you serious? How exciting are these guys. Pick your poison. No seniors. Just loaded. Not even sure what the depth chart is, and I don't think it matters. The 1-2 combo of Sam/Crockett is as good as anyone. Dinwiddie showed his stuff with 3 TD's yesterday and is the "Sigers" type back that changes the pass of play in space. Matt Jones is a beast. Runs hard. Get Lang back healthy and we legit go 5 deep at this position and nobody graduates.

FB: Another dominating Junior starter with an absolute athletic beast backing up Grothman and playing more and more. Appears to be a weapon in the passing game. That athletic leap is just amazing. If you DVR'd the game, pause it and see how high he really was. Remarkable how athletic and big Bonnet is. Tough guys.

TE: Batch of guys just getting their feet wet with increased playing time. Bruhn is the leader and the best combo of pass/block. Just a beast. Hopefully he is ready next week. Derek Lee at Freshman looks the part, and I know we had a big recruit on campus this weekend at TE. Coaches really liked the kid.

WR: I am not sure if Vraa is a Freshman or a senior, but it appears he actually has 3 more years after this, and is already a superstar. Trevor has really stepped up, and is finally healthy. Ryan is struggling with his health, but when healthy, we know what we have in him, which is Brock's safety blanket, great hands and speed. The future here is what gets exciting. Dee Gray "is a freak." Best combo of size and speed we have seen at the position. The redshirts are loaded, not to mention we have freshman in Okland is really starting to produce. This is going from an area of concern to a strengh in about a year. Cooper is starting to be a weapon in the run game too.

O Line: No senior starters and alot of kids redshirting. Plankers/Lechler (sp?) redshirting, a young beast playing as a true freshman in Johnson, who looks like a 4 year starter. The Rams are loading up for the future.

D Line: No senior starters, bunch of Juniors playing a ton and Emmanuel only a Sophomore starter. Hardie with 2 more sacks yesterday only a Freshman. Extremely deep position anchored by some complete studs that will be here a while. The push that Drevlow and Perry are getting up the middle is amazing. Plus, we are redshirting Chuks and Farnlof who were bigtime recruits for us.

LB: No seniors. Starters are dominating. Sophomore, Junior, Sophomore starters. Lacking depth. Great to see Esley making plays, he is only a Sophomore and appears to be a contributor. Ollman was playing some OLB, as a Senior, but now more at Safety. Least amount of depth, but a bunch of kids redshirting. Dinwiddie only a Sophomore, Sonnenfeld a Freshman, Scoliere a Freshman, and excited to see the size of Jacob Davis in the middle in the future.

Corner: Senior Andre Martin now starting. Might be the deepest position on the team. Marcus is the best player in FCS football as a Junior. Excited to see CJ Smith and Jordan Champion as they are young Freshman with talent. CJ started yesterday as a Freshman. Boyd playing more and more as a Senior. Stacked for the future.

Safety: Dudzik appears to be a 4 year starter after converting to safety, still only a sophomore. Shepard a Junior starting now with the ACL injury to Heagle, who basically has 2 years now. Marcus Brantley was a big recruit at safety that is redshirting. Not much depth at this position after the injury. Dudzik/Heagle should start the next couple of years after this one.

Anyway, in talking with Kermit, we were talking how amazing our depth is for an FCS roster. Pretty lucky, and recruiting appears to be going well. We just don't graduate a bunch this year. A few contributors and a couple of starters now. It was just Lund, but adding Martin now to that senior starter list. Anyone I missed? Anyway, I just wanted to actually have a thread on football. Is it UNI week yet?
    Fabulous stuff Mr. B.

How great is it that we can all be more relaxed about the kicking game than we were pre-season?
Both of these kids have been more than satisfactory thus far.

LeCompte's performance against Prairie View can't be topped.

He did hold the ball for all of the extra points and the field goal. So he did get in the game quite a few plays.

We really don't look or play like an FCS team. Watching videos of the Bison has to be a little scary for opposing coaches.

It will be fun to see how we stack up against Northern Iowa after their two near-misses with Wisconsin and Iowa. Same applies to Youngstown State. Youngstown looks to be the most athletic team we'll play in the regular season. I don't think that either team can match up with us across the lineup. But our best trump card is Brock Jensen. He controls games. The pace is all his...and he knows it. His field intelligence is off the chart.

If we play relatively error-free ball...we'll win a couple of good games. It'll be really interesting to see how our offensive line does in Iowa.

If you wore the uniform...you're a champion.

Good stuff Burg. I have nothing to add other than there is a senior on the OL, that being Lund, and Hardie is a So, not a Fr.

The comments on here about the Bison being athletic are interesting, especially after the PV HC Northern said this about the Bison:

"They’re physical, but they’re more athletic than teams give them credit for."

    Ha!
