Minnesota State University head football coach Todd Hoffner was booked into the Blue Earth County jail at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday on requested charges related to child pornography.

Jail booking records for Hoffner cite the statute relating to child pornography crimes.

A Blue Earth County deputy and Eagle Lake Police were at Hoffner's home early Tuesday afternoon.

Eagle Lake Police Chief Phil Wills said he couldn't comment on the case, but was assisting Blue Earth County in the investigation.

I had heard the report of him being escorted off the practice field on Friday and was thinking at the time, 'what did the guy allegedly do that was so bad?' Well, now we know.

I think we should take it easy on saying "another Sandusky". While this is obviously very bad, Sandusky included negligence at the university level. But yeah still obviously very bad.

The story in the Mankato Free Press had some more details. Doesn't sound like a mixup or something that has a good explanation.

Todd let a lot of people down. Including his family, who was so very proud of his accomplishments in his coaching career. It goes without saying that the real victims of this stuff didn't deserve it.

I agree completely, letdown to everyone involved with the family, program, etc... looks like he was turning around the MSUM program. I wish him the best in turning his life around in the future after the legal process is done as it won't be easy.
