Xm is cool if you travel a lot in rural spots but i cant justify spending the money. Don't spend enough time driving. I let my offer expire but 25 for 6 mo is a good deal. Like listening to stern may give it a try but i hear its hard to cancel

I also didn't pay with a credit card. I bought a gift card and used that so I knew they wouldn't be charging my credit card as I to had heard some horror stories.

I also take the 'cancel and resubscribe' approach. After my free trail ran out in my vehicle, I received 12 months for half the price. Once that promo expired, I was offered the 6 mo $25 deal. As long as you remember to cancel before your promo subscription automatically renews, its golden!

Personally I find the service to be overpriced even at $4/month and I totally don't miss it when it's gone. It's nice for long trips but now that I can just stream music off of my phone via bluetooth there's other better options. I've canceled and taken advantage of their promos before but it's almost not even worth the hassle.

Totally agree that you use a gift card or a single-use credit card number. Damned if I'm giving them an opportunity to charge me beyond the promo period.

Ive driven the same routes for so long I know most of the stations I listen to. My new vehicle has the free service for 6 months if I sign up for it I think but dont really need it.

I'd be lost without Stern...I listen all-day at work and its great...I'll have to call and threaten to cancel just to see what happens.

If you get the right rep, I hear they just keep lowering their prices. $25 for 6 months is the lowest monthly I've seen, other than free months, of course.
