    Default Best walk-on?

The talk about Grant Maris made me think...what walk-on has turned into the biggest (or maybe most surprising?) contributor for the Bison? I'm sure we've had some initial walk-ons earn scholarships over the years...were any of the names commonly passed around as the Bison greats initially walk-ons?

Kelly Artz? (pretty sure he was a walk on)

Not a "great" but solid with plenty of memorable moments. The 88 yard TD pass vs Northern Colorado. Aggressive tackler on special teams. Not big but all heart.

Jayd Kittelson was a walk-on IIRC.

I almost hate to post this because I've done it a couple times before... but #7 Ken Clark went from walk-on to All-American safety on NDSU's 8th National Championship team.
