Default Butler wants into the A-10

I figure this is relevant to the Summit, seeing that every Horizon member added in the last 19 years came from the Summit.

ORU and Oakland played a huge part in raising the conference RPI and street cred this year and in years past. Time to form a super conference with the WAC a la MWC/CUSA?

The Summit/Horizon should join to form the Aspirational Conference.

Because if Butler bolts for the A-10, 6 A-10 members would be former Horizon League members while either 7 or 8 Horizon League members would be former Summit League members. Meanwhile, the Summit League's membership would consist entirely of members who joined on leaving D-2.

I agree. You'd have to think when the dominos fall, Oakland would be very high on the Horizon League's radar. Get's them back to a 10-team league OR they try to get to 12 teams and target a couple other schools from the Summit. Horizon is wishing UIC or Loyola was leaving!

I doubt they'd go 12. BTW Just how many Loyolas are there exactly?

Supposedly Detroit doesn't want Oakland in the Horizon.

That said if Oakland leaves it might be time to start looking and if that means moving FBS so be it.

Easier said than done. That's probably going to cost more than $1M per year over and above current FB expenses, and all FBS conferences will have higher travel costs for every other sport.

    Shit.

NDSU must have raised football ticket prices/Team Makers more than a million dollars.
