Some yahoo over at Yahoo! sports commented that Vraa got away with pass interference because he plays for NDSU and therefore the ref gave him preferential treatment and looked the other way. What an idiot.

No argument there but I will say I was wondering why the WIU LB wasn't flagged.

I don't know how you'd flag him he didn't grab/push etc. He did the one thing he could do and stand his ground and hope he got enough in the way that Vraa wouldn't be able to catch it. Vraa didn't go through him to catch the ball so couldn't be an Off PI.

Was there contact definitely but think it was the result of both players action so a good no call as nobody gained an advantage by the contact that did happen. The defender likely didn't wrap him up as he had no idea when Vraa touched the ball so didn't want to get PI and didn't see that he had it until he was stumbling into the endzone. Probably figured having his body in the way was going to be enough in that situation and probably 99 times out of a 100 it would be.

If Vraa had not caught the ball and the LB ran through him as he was trying to go back for it, it would have been a flag but that was some Matrix shit he pulled off there.
