    Default Interesting stats

Interesting stats from kenpom.com (subscription required):

NDSU's offense ranks 21 in the nation in effective FG%.
The defense ranks 19 in the same stat!

On the other hand, we are #297 in offensive rebound percentage.

    Edit:
Effective field goal percentage (eFG%): Computed from (FGM + 0.5*3PM)/FGA. This differs from conventional field goal percentage by taking into account the extra value of a made 3-pointer.

After further review of the stats on the Pomeroy site, we score efficiently and get to the line frequently. We are a poor offensive rebounding team and we miss too many free throws. We are very effective defensively and in defensive rebounding, but we don't cause a large number of turnovers and we give up too many free throws.

You mean we give up too many free throws like when the other team is in the bonus in 8 minutes into a half... after tripping over oneself 3 times to cause 3 fouls called on us, all while it's ok to run into anyone has much as desired as long as your arms are up straight up in the air or perhaps attempt to make someone give you a shoulder ride?

Good point! The officiating in last night's game was beyond ridiculous. We are lucky that LA or Taylor were not seriously hurt on the undercuts--which were apparently not fouls.

Something that was not called on either team was a Charging Foul. Some were definitely in the underbasket ring which dictates a charge will not be called, however not all..

I counted 4 that were offensive fouls on oakland, accounting for the blocking circle. Was their seriously no over the back foul on the play where nates leg/knee was destroyed? Couldn't believe oakland just got the ball after all that... the ref's checked replays on 3 or 4 other plays before that....
