Default Thoughts on early signing period

I hear lots of P5 coaches crying so that tells me it must be good for college football.

Saban, among others, don't like how players are "pressured" into signing early. Because we all know those SEC overlords would never pressure a kid into committing. It's laughable that they don't just say why they don't like it because everyone knows it. It's tougher for them to flip previously committed recruits from "lesser schools". IMO, the lower on the food chain you are the better the early signing period is for you. The only ones it really hurts is the SEC and ACC powerhouses so, again, I'm all for it!

And I should link this article here:

http://www.argusleader.com/story/spo...h-daWashington LB/South Dakota State commit Seth Benson offered by Iowa Hawkeyeskota-state-jackrabbits-commit-seth-benson-offered-iowa-hawkeyes/962479001/

Note, this is a SDSU verbal who Iowa gave option to sign at the latter signing date. I found that fascinating.

He's a huge fan of oversigning and then getting kids off the team if they aren't immediately helpful.

And by immediately helpful, they must be 4/5 star kids who will be NFL-ready within two years. Not sure how much he develop kids as much as he benefits from kids who are genetically gifted. Pretty much the opposite of what NDSU does.
