Yea, Lakes remembered the guys name, Dave Deland. He wrote an ugly column about how NDSU would never play a meaningful playoff game in any sport again the day we went D1. Someone reposted it on here probably 6 or 7 years ago. Trust me, it the same quality of work as Derrick Slovak.

Bringing this post back. Thanks Professor, it doesn't get any better than this.

Too much pointless arguing on Bisonville these days so bumping this thread to prove that we all can agree on something. Derrik T Sovak's article just gets more enjoyable as time goes on now that we're primed to see as many as 3 former Bison go in the 1st round of the next NFL draft.

I actually want to thank him.

When I ever I prognosticate I think how likely is it that I'm wrong and then, no matter how unlikely how stupid I'd look if I am.

I call the technique Socal framing.
Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."
Scrooge-"Are there no prisons?". "Plenty of prisons..."
Scrooge-"And the Union workhouses." . "Are they still in operation?". "Both very busy, sir..."
"Those who are badly off must go there."
"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."
Scrooge- "If they would rather die," "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."

I know some of the nay-sayers have looped back and said "Yep I was wrong." (McFeely and Ruesse specfically). I never saw a followup from DeLand.
