I don't think Klieman has enough head coaching experience for a P5 job at this time. He has a lot more to learn. I hope he learns it here.

There is a negative 500% chance that Iowa state hires Klieman. Or even considers him seriously. Everyone sleep easy, it's not happening. Not even a pathetic joke of a program like iowa state would hire an fcs coach with 2 years of HC experience.
Let's face it; Iowa St. needs to take a chance. They are never going to get things rolling with some retread. Taking a shot on Coach K would be a great move on their part. But, doubt smart enough to do it.

Tell Klieman to call Earle Solomonson and ask how that worked out when he left after 2 years and 2 championships. Better yet, have Iowa State call out to Montana State and ask THEM how it worked out.

I think there are too many good G5 coaches who would probably be better choices right now for ISU than Coach K right now. Willie Fritz comes to mind as he would probably walk in with a complete coaching staff. That being said, I hope when Klieman is seriously considered for a job, he isn't judged by what Bohl or Earle Solomonson has done. Each is his own man and their success is their success. Each guy's failure is their own, as well. Where would anybody be if we were held back by our predecessors' failures? There are many reasons to let Klieman develop further as a head coach before hiring him as a P5 coach, but another man's failures is not one of them.
By the way, I do think Bohl's work is still in progress. It is yet to be seen if the Wyoming administration has the patience to let it work, but that was a program that needed a reboot before it could move forward. Otherwise, it was destined for a consistent journey at the edge of the abyss.
Coach K only has 2 yrs of HC experience and we haven't seen a majority team of his recruits yet. I know he has been here and has been recruiting, but it's a big difference recruiting as a HC. His only other HC position was D3 (I think) and from what I remember that didn't go too well. If he continues to find success over the next two years I would say his stock would go way up. For now, imo, he's too fresh for a P5 head coaching job. Maybe not, we shall see!
