With that rational we may as well add Augie to the MVFC.

I forgot the Wack Conference is losing CSU-Bakersfield in 2020 to the big west, so they are down to 9 teams already

Just read on the Yote board that Grand Canyon had approached the Summit about membership, but the Summit wasn't interested. Wow, never would have thought the Summit would turn down a warm body, this likely means NMSU is not in play either.

An article in the Argus with some interesting Douple quotes. I don't know what the Summit's long game is, but it looks like to me they want to tighten the footprint around I-29.

Still think UMKC or Northern Colorado would be the best additions for the Summit

Not surprised. Adding GCU was one of the reasons Denver bolted the WAC. GCU's history as a recent for-profit was something Denver wanted no part of. It also looks like the Dakotas and Omaha didn't like GCU for reasons of their own(geography? academics?). Even with similar geography, I think NMSU is a totally different case and would be welcomed with open arms.
