Summit made an excellent choice.
Fenton has done a stellar job running the NCHC, understands how to put on marquee events and the importance of them and also spent 9 years in Miami (OH) athletic department.

While I'm sure some will dismiss his work because it was in hockey, what he accomplished speaks for itself.

Word on the street is UMKC is going to leave the Summit for the Missouri Valley. Not sure when announcement will happen.

Makes me wonder if anyone is actually capable of any thought beyond just the most basic, surface view. Few in KC actually watch or care about UMKC.

The private schools are going to run that conference into the ground. They want markets to build their enrollment, nobody in KC knows UMKC exists.

Rumors that I am seeing are that Murray State, UMKC, UIC, & UT-Arlington will be invited to the Missouri Valley. Murray State is the only one that makes any sense. They have a good track record, passionate fan base, and are easy travel partners with Belmont, who was previously invited. The last 3 schools are TV market reaches at best.

It would be interesting to see the percentage of market share that UMKC, UIC, & UT-Arlington get in the Kansas City, Chicago, & DFW markets respectively. I'd bet that it's significantly less than 1%.
