Yay! More ad hominem attacks against ideas you don't like. You must have missed Fenton's first press conference. He said improving existing sports is the priority, which is good, but if the opportunity for football or other sports comes up he's for it.

The Summit is fine right now, maybe UMKC or Omaha leaves but even that isn't a lock and there are OVC non-football schools that we could approach. No need to slam our football program even further under the bus than it already is with a declining FCS by putting it into a medicore conference as well. Absolutely zero reason to be making desperate moves right now that could hurt our football program long term.

If we lock our football program with all our other sports, we will need a full FBS offer. That is something that has to be considered.

Fenton wouldn't start Summit League Football if it was mediocre. He does things the right way. If it included mvc teams, then I think he would pull the trigger. The guy has standards.

The Big Sky is losing Southern Utah to the WAC and will be down to 10 full members. Adding the 4 Dakota schools for all-sports would be a solid conference. 16 for football though (UCD and CP) might be too many.

If Summit football ever happens it will be unimaginably better than the Big Sky. Going west is a huge mistake. Just ask UND how that went.
