Probably looking at Denver U

Doubtful. Denver has had opportunities to join the MVC and effectively turned them down.* Nothing has changed since then.
*Denver and the MVC talked when Denver left the WAC. The MVC told Denver they would consider them if Denver added some MVC-sponsored sports. Denver told the MVC they were happy with what they had, and they took the Summit offer which didn't include any demands.
This article - expansion a topic way down at the bottom of the blog - talks of Murray State being a desired candidate. And this is only being talked of due to the MVC having a new commissioner (?).
If Murray State were to come on board, then Belmont would be the next target.

Matt Brown, who broke the WAC/Southland/AtlanticSun stories and some MVC news, seems to think that the MVC is targeting UTA, based on FOIA requests. While the UTA possibility is somewhat old news now, he now thinks that Little Rock might end up in the Summit league - I assume based on new FOIA requests.

Little Rock would make for a great travel partner if the MVC doesn't take Oral Roberts. Little Rock would probably have the best arena in the league, imo. What do you guys think of this? Would Little Rock improve the league? It would certainly be better than an Augie addition... Travel partners could then be UST/SDSU, USD/UNO, DU/UMKC,ORU/ULR. WIU would have to be gone obviously.

Sycamore fan here. I have long been an advocate of adding NDSU and SDSU to the MVC. Unfortunately the reality is that the private schools would never go for it and I believe 75% of the members have to vote "yes" for a new member to be added. Drake might go for it, but Valpo, Loyola, Evansville, and Bradley would be definite "no's". Embarrassingly enough I'm not even sure if Indiana State would vote "yes" because of travel.
I don't see the UT Arlington thing ever happening. If it does then Indiana State might need to find a new league, because that would be a pretty embarrassing addition. I thought it was pretty bad when we looked at Omaha (that isn't meant to be a put down either), but Arlington would be even worse.
Personally if the MVC could add Murray State and go to 11 I would be pretty happy with it. At least then we would have 6 schools for an AQ for the FCS playoffs (if the MVFC ever broke up) and Murray a pretty good basketball program practically in our own backyard. I think the MVC's dream is to add Belmont, who turned the MVC down in 2013 and 2017.
