    Default MVFC scheduling woes

    MVFC scheduling always sucks!
Outside of Week 1 all games on Saturdays and very few of those will be night games.
Why not utilize Friday nights? Why not utilize more Saturday nights?
Many of us would like to watch more than one MVFC game per week!

The schools chose their own kickoffs on Saturdays, don't like 2:30 then talk to ML. This isn't the Big 10, we aren't catering to networks playing on a different days of the week and nor should we unless we get compensated for it. Saturday is the best day for football and it isn't close.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.

You literally just said in another thread..."An early season game under the lights would also kick ass" and I whole heartedly agree. Night games are the best!

Only thing standing in the way of that is Matt Larson, the MVFC has nothing to do with it.

ML just loves to coast along doing the same thing, stuck in the past. We used to play night games and they rocked, Sam Houston was one of them. The issue we don't cater to young or different fans or try anything new. Gotta cater to all the ancient relics that don't want night games.

    That sucks.

Seems every other team in The Valley has the same issue. Nearly every game is Saturday afternoon.

Just think of playing UND, SDSU or UNI in primetime late in the season, would kick ass. An early season night game, tailgating all day would also be awesome.

Anytime they have a home game in week 1 (Labor Day weekend) it should be an automatic Thursday night kickoff. Would help attendance even with a lot of our fans being from outside the FM area since everyone wants to get out and do summer things that weekend while they still have a chance. Outside of that Thursday night games would be a tough go in terms of preparation for the players and coaches unless there is a bye week prior to it and I don't like college teams playing on Friday nights and taking fans away from local high school games.

I do wonder if WDAY (and KVLY before that) does have some say in avoiding the Thursday night games though since they would get a lot of pissed off non-football fans who can't watch Thursday night prime time TV schedule on ABC if there's an NDSU football game that night.

I think that is a big problem with a lot of the stuff we as fans bitch about... Not willing to go outside of the box because the blue haired milk drinkers will get upset that it isn't like 1986 any more...
