Yep. I remember that contingent offer/invite from the MVC after Gene Taylor called them: If you make it to the Sweet 16 and triple your spending on basketball, then we will allow you in.

And then what? The MVC is a one-bid league today just as the Summit League is. The defections of Creighton/Wichita State have gutted that league and turned Arch Madness into another shitty conference tournament. I hope the Tommies do build a monster...it forces everyone else to be better. Look at what the WCC has become. The past two years, they have better hoops than the PAC 12 and MWC.

well JD probably is right. That's why using FOOTBALL to get into a BIGGER FBS conference would raise the profile of BASKETBALL ten fold!

They are 1 bid at the moment but that can change pretty easily if one of the programs starts to fill the Wichita vacuum.
