Yeah, they played well and we really (really) didn't play well.

That being said, we're still 23-3 right now and still have a good shot of hosting the Regional even with that loss to Moorhead. I would be astounded if we play that poorly again this season, but I suppose if we do, that'll be the end of our season.

Either way, I'd still take the season we're having over the season Moorhead is having. Regular season outright conference champs and either the 1 or 2 seed in the Regional. Plus, we have an incoming recruiting class that, if it doesn't get poached to smithereens by the low-D1s, should put us in a good position for the next several years.

But yes, good win by Moorhead. Surprising their season hasn't gone better for how well they played against us.

The way we looked last night, we deserve a ribbing. I would imagine Coach Billeter and his staff will get them back on track for the Regional in a couple weeks. Hope so at least.

If I were him, I'd be much happier at Northern. Better budget, drastically better facility (with recent upgrades), and guaranteed 2000+ fans every home game (minimum) in a town obsessed with every sport your school participates in, with no direct local competition offering high-level college athletics. Then again, maybe one of these low- or mid-major D1s will come calling in the near future and he won't look back at the NSIC again either way.
