The best way to get positive rep is clearly to make people laugh! There is nothing wrong with that, because most of us need to laugh more and grind our teeth a little less. Sometimes it gets a little silly, though. I think I got more positive rep from the first 2 or 3 posts I made as "Steven Threet" than from all the posts I had made as "Kermit" at the time...

I actually introduced them to the internet so I am on my way back to Fargo. I was posting from the jail, but I had to explain it to them before they tried double arresting me. Or, you know, tackling me with 3 FPD... I mean BPD because I look so threatening.

Hmmmm why is it that there seems to be so much angst with regards to Rep....It is no like your rep is tied to your penis size so what is the big deal.

I actually introduced them to the internet so I am on my way back to Fargo. I was posting from the jail, but I had to explain it to them before they tried double arresting me. Or, you know, tackling me with 3 FPD... I mean BPD because I look so threatening.

Are you telling me there was a lip on those bleachers? Were you standing on it?

IIRC correctly, there was a near mutiny at AGS a few years back when this exact topic was brought up and enacted. Personally, I thought their solution was pretty good, though some posters were seriously pissed off. They ran everyone's rep total through a ratio to bring the system back under control. Say TAB has 5 million rep points and I have 1000. Also say that we want the maximum rep after the switch to be 10,000. To get TAB to that number would require a ratio of 0.002. Applied to my total, I would now have 2 points. I think AGS also put in a modifier to help people out on the low end and also spread out the rep levels somewhat.

In any case, the rep level system on BV is broken. When multiple posters can max you out from a single rep, the levels become meaningless. That doesn't mean we have to change anything, but we should talk it over.
