I did my own count yesterday, I counted 71 FCS teams still eligible for an at-large.

If I'm not mistaken, we've just become the 1st FCS team to be playoff eligible. Sam Houston will likely be 2nd later tonight.

This is really sweet! Thanks for doing this. How many total FCS teams are eligible for playoffs? (At the start of the season)

There are 59 teams remaining who can still end up eligible for 10 at-large spots (or have already qualified):

    Montana State
    Montana
    Weber State
    Eastern Washington
    Sacramento State
    Liberty
    Stony Brook
    Coastal Carolina
    Cal Poly
    Southern Utah
    Maine
    Towson
    James Madison
    New Hampshire
    Old Dominion
    Richmond
    Norfolk State
    North Carolina A&T
    Morgan State
    Florida A&M
    South Carolina State
    Bethune-Cookman
    Hampton
    Northern Iowa
    North Dakota State
    Illinois State
    Indiana State
    Youngstown State
    Albany
    Monmouth
    Duquesne
    Sacred Heart
    Jacksonville State
    Tennessee Tech
    Eastern Kentucky
    Tennessee-Martin
    Murray State
    Lehigh
    Holy Cross
    Georgetown
    Lafayette
    Bucknell
    Colgate
    Jacksonville
    San Diego
    Drake
    Dayton
    Campbell
    Georgia Southern
    Wofford
    Appalachian State
    Furman
    Samford
    Chattanooga
    Elon
    Citadel
    Sam Houston State
    Central Arkansas
    Northwestern State

There are 20 teams remaining who are no longer eligible for an at-large spot, but are in autobid conferences, and still could mathematically win an autobid:

    Portland State
    Presbyterian
    Gardner-Webb
    VMI
    Charleston Southern
    Delaware
    William & Mary
    Rhode Island
    Bryant
    Robert Morris
    Wagner
    Central Connecticut State
    Southeast Missouri State
    Austin Peay
    Tennessee State
    Fordham
    McNeese State
    Lamar
    Stephen F. Austin
    Southeastern Louisiana
