Annual GSMB Sucks Thread

Serious suggestion to those still in the band: Add some menacing quick tunes to the folders. Right now, everything is happy. Whip up some low brass heavy shorts like O Fortuna, the four note motif from Dune*, stuff like that. Use the happy stuff for offense and the menacing stuff for defense.

SDSU reminded me of another "dark" tune: Dies Irae. Their arrangement wasn't the best, but it's a good choice.


BTW, I know our flag corps isn't the best looking group of female flesh ever to be assembled, but if we ever put them in something as ugly as those outfits the SDSU girls were wearing, somebody will need to be shot. I kept thinking "19th century milk maids" every time I saw them. How can their main uniforms be designed so well and their flag corps uniforms be so ugly?

I noticed those unis as well. The designer had to have been amish. It was BAD.

I never comment about the Flag Corps.

The first year in the Fargodome, I made an unflattering comment about the degree of difficulty of their routine. The lady in front of me turned around and chewed me a new one. Still gives me chills today remembering that lecture.

It's a double-edged sword. If we play when we have the ball, we get comments like these. If we don't, people complain that we aren't playing enough.
