Although, to be honest, I don't think Iowa State ever really "figured it out." They just built the stadium (and the buildings of the Iowa State Center in a flood plain east of campus, so there was plenty of parking to begin with. Still, I just can't believe that you guys can't figure it out. Even the die-hard tailgaters on BV can't seem to agree on an overall plan that works for everyone.
The issues we have come down to certain interests having no desire to figure it out. Or perhaps, put more directly, their idea of figuring it out is prohibiting it entirely.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. Couple that with NDSU not pressuring them enough, and you have what you have.

It may have been posted before but I have a question. What is the impact to the FM community for a home Bison Football game. Our group will stop for supper and a couple drinks after the game in Fargo or Mapleton each game. Also we generally forget something and have to stop at the grocery store or liquor store.

I notice the tailgating rules have been updated again this year. 2 pages of rules and guidelines!

I live in town and many times we go out to eat for lunch and we buy pizza & beer after the game.

I think it has a huge impact. Gas, hotels, food, merchandise and beverage establishments must benefit.

Other benefactors are all of you buying stuff for tailgating vehicles and trailers. Big box stores benefit.

No drones and music must be kept to a reasonable volume. I get the drones being by the airport. I don't have a problem with the music policy if it's really not enforced except in rare cases of some dumb ass blaring music so loud it melts your face off and and refuses to turn it down after being politely asked by staff. I don't think this would ever be a problem since most people know their neighbors

Yeah, the music can be a problem. Honestly more so now that spots can be sold etc and can't always have the same neighbors. Heard from a some tailgaters that the radio stations in the middle ditch/grass area were way too loud and refused to be respectful and turn it down even when asked repeatedly. Big F that if true. I don't tailgate to listen to others music as would prefer my own. I expect them to have the same respect and rules as everyone else. If asked turn it down. Do it. Simple.

It takes quite the system to be too loud. We have our system cranked to 11 and nobody ever complains but if my neighbors bitched about it I would turn it down a notch. The good news is their music is just as loud as our music is.

Now if a passer by asked me to turn it down I would politely tell them to go fuck themselves
