Nope. I was wondering the same thing 15 min ago, so I grabbed a screenshot from Google Maps and spent a couple minutes in MS Paint. One soccer field and one football field fit perfectly in the existing space once the north stands are removed.

Right, but there was a thread around here not too long ago where Gene Taylor was emailed about fixing up the north grandstands, he replied by saying that they are looking into what it would take to fix them up. So that would imply that the north grand stands are staying. That is unless that's changed since then.

I could be wrong, but I don't really believe him on this matter. I think they are just waiting to have some spare cash before tearing the grandstands down. Once the SHAC is finished, I think the clock will start ticking. Also, there's no point in tearing them down until they're ready to put in the new fields. Since that will require ripping up the turf that just went down, I expect they will wait until the new turf has been used for at least half of its expected life; maybe 5-7 years from now. I just think that any look into seriously fixing up the stands will result in a price tag far beyond what anyone is willing to pay. Just my $0.02 worth.

Now, off to a really bad movie paid for by blood. Literally. UBS gives points for donating blood that you can redeem for movie tickets. Love it.

Wouldn't it make more sense to move the new track building back in order to make space for 2 fields? That way we preserve the historic stands, (plan on fixing them), provide spectator seating, storage, and wind cover on 3 sides. Plus Bohl once said he thought other teams were spying on the team during practice and that provides improved cover.

I graduated with Shelley's grandkid. He went to UND after HS and became a lawyer to follow in his Dad's footsteps. I'm glad the Ellig's continue to bless the athletic department of NDSU with their genorisity.

Incredibly generous donation. Can't wait to see the building start going up.

Very glad that Shelly's last name didn't start with an "H".

All that means is they are looking to see what it would cost to fix them up. After that determination is made they can then try to configure the stands in to the new plans or if its not feasible to refurbish the stands then figure out what to do with them.

It took me way too damn long to figure that out. Jack the Giant Killer rotted my brain.

I need to make a point of driving 3 blocks out of my way to go to Stop N Go since Holiday has never donated a nickel to NDSU, to my knowledge.
