Carlson, running in heat 2 of 2 crosses the line 4th in her heat in 13.94 seconds.
    Good for 987 points.

Olympic silver medalist Hyleas Fountain had the top time and ran in heat 2 as well, right next to Whitney. Fountain's time of 13.17 is good for 1,009 points to take the early lead

Next up for the Heptathalon is the High Jump.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it will be impossible for Whitney to be leading after this event since Hyleas Fountain (winner of the 100 hurdles) won this portion of the Hept. last year at 6' 2 3/4"!!

Whitney clears her opening height on her first attempt at 1.45 meters and shortly thereafter clears 1.48 on her 1st try.

    The bar goes to 1.57 (5' 1 3/4):
    1st try: Miss
    2nd try: Miss
    3rd try: Miss

So, a bit disappointing for Whitney Carlson bowing out at 1.57.
She gets credit for 1.54 meters good for 666 points.

In the NCAA Championship she cleared 1.60 meters that resulted in 736 points.

    Next up:
    The Shot Put.

Hyleas Fountain won this event last year too throwing 45 feet, one half inch.

I demand a gender identification test on her NOW!*

*Obviously my self-esteem is at an all-time low since I've resorted to being unfunny to myself instead of the rest of you guys........................that aren't reading this anyway........................................shit am I a loser or what?

Bowing out is Bettie Wade (one of the favorites in the HJ)
Please don't confuse Bettie Wade with the author Betty Wont whose book "Will Lakesbison Ever Be Allowed To Return To Bisonville" held the number one spot in the NY Times Best-Seller list for 3 weeks this spring.
