    Default Taylor Braun

    This kid...

is getting better every week. He is Mr. Versatility for this Bison team as a FRESHMAN. He can defend, rebound, get out in transition, and nobody on this team can take the ball to the rim off the dribble like he can. And the best part is, he does it all with a bit of attitude and swagger. Watch out Summit League!

Missing out on Wolters was tough but Braun has definitely made up for it. How can anybody not be excited by what he is doing, if he gets that jumper locked down he will be one of the best players in the Summit.

Can't wait to see Taylor develop into a very dangerous player - more so than he already is, that is. Next year is going to be exciting.

Braun is dominant, if he breaks the top 10 in scoring after he's done here I don't think I'd be surprised.

I feel like this kid's confidence has sky rocketed over the last couple weeks. He has emerged as the player who is going to lead this team going forward and has become a major contributor at the end of this season. I can't really compare him to any player I've seen over the years because he plays with a different style. He is ridiculously quick to the rim with and handles the ball very very well for someone who is 6'7" If he can develop into even half as good of outside shooter as Tveidt is he's going to be a star in the Summit League.

As a side note, any chance we fill this PG void with Hale next year? I mean with the length and size we could start on the floor with him at point we could be a great defensive team. I'm just thinking Hale, Braun, Wright, Carlson and Bjorklund could be money, especially with Lundberg and possibly Lindberg, Felt and Aaberg all coming off the bench. I'm liking the way next season is shaping up, but first, we have a little tournament to win.

I would call Hale a combo guard. My guess is that he will play more 2 than 1 next year, but I could be wrong. He is very athletic and fits the profile of a lot of the guards we have to play AGAINST in the Summit League. He has the ability to get into the lane but he is also a very good (albeit streaky) outside shooter. He can defend either guard position. He does need to get stronger.

There are actually 3 guys sitting out this year (redshirt or transfer) who have the ability to have a positive impact next year. I think Hale has a great chance to be an immediate starter. Aaberg, obviously, will add depth in the post and bring a shot-blocking/altering presence on defense. He is looking good as he comes back from his concussion. Demar Wilson is the wild card. He is another great athlete who can get into the paint and finish--the kind of guy that teams like IUPUI always has but we don't.

Yeah I mean from everything everyone has said it sounds like he's better suited to play the 2 spot, but so is Freddy, but in an effort to get the best athletes and most talent on the floor I feel like it might be better for the team if he plays the point. I also am interested in seeing what Demar brings to the table, the dude looks like a baller, good size and strength not sure as far as skills what he brings but I bet the guy can defend. I see him sort of as a role player filling in at the 2/3 spots as a sub or defensive specialist.
