Minot State and Sioux Falls join NSIC

Minot State University and Sioux Falls College will join the NSIC beginning in the 2012-2013 school year. The league will be split into two eight team divisions.

The North Division will consist of Minot State, Bemidji, U Mary, Crookston, Duluth, Moorhead, Northern State and St. Cloud.

The South Division will have Augustana, Concordia St. Paul, Mankato, Sioux Falls, Southwest State, Upper Iowa, Wayne State and Winona.

According to an article in the Rapid City Journal, they are leaving the DAC at the end of the year with their move to DII, and don't currently have any conference affiliation lined up. They are, however, continuing to pursue membership in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

well it's mitosis(general cell division) meiosis (baby making cell division), or fission (dna replication I think). I got a C in gen bio, I did get A's in AnP 1&2 though, aced the female anatomy

Mitosis (as the coldspot said) is the common form of cell division where daughter cells are produced identical to the mother cells both genetically and in chromosome number. One haploid mother cell would undergo Mitosis to produce two haploid daughter cells.

Meiosis ("baby making") cell division creates a daughter cells with a chromosome number 1/2 that of the Mother cell. A diploid mother cell produces 4 haploid daugher cells. This is important for "baby making" because when you start with one cell (egg or sperm) you are able to maintain the chromosome number via fertilization instead of exponentially increasing it.

Nuclear cell division ("fission") is basically the same as mitotic division, except the end result is two nuclei in one cell instead of two nuclei/two cells.

I always found when I was up late studying, and subsequently, drinking, the only method I would attempt to learn from books was by osmosis.
