Times were different 40 years ago. I didn't even know Jewish people didn't eat pig meat until an event in high school where one of my teammates was Jewish and they main course was ham.

My high school (South High Bruins) played the Wops - 1967-1970 era. If I gave it any thought, I maybe thought it was a "wop" like a slap. Please don't call me ignorant anybody. We just didn't know.
