Cool, so we're not going FBS then? I'm confused.

How many players in the past ten years or so came to NDSU to play football BECAUSE we were playing in a domed stadium? How many do we lose if we are playing outdoors? Better factor that into the plan.

Winnipeg spent $200 million to make an outdoor stadium that would work for us. That is quoting Jeff Kolpack. Now imagine the costs associated with putting a roof on it, all the concrete and steel. The HVAC...All the extra labor as well.
I love the fact you think big but Syracuse wold stomp Boise in recruiting with the dome they currently have. (But maybe not fellow conference mates ) With an outdoor stadium I think we dont land recruits from warm weather climates. I could be wrong

I say do a phase 1 dome which is basic and if we're ever lucky enough to move to a bigger conference, then do a fundraiser to upgrade the dome and make it all fancy schmancy

Itll be outdoor stadium, no AC>
BisonMike is reading my mind. NDSU already has power on campus.

How much additional seating did you add? Do you still have the corner supports? Do you serve beer?

My father in law had commercial warehouses. 1/3 of rent went to future building repair, upgrades, emergencies etc. 1/3 went to current operations, maintenance etc and the last 1/3 went to his pocket and other investments.

Corner supports are killing us. We could add a couple of thousand bar stools but that damn fire code keeps popping its ugly head up. We tried to suspend a bar in the corner but OSHA would have none of that without an elevator. That was 100,000 grand.

SO---We serve beer outside and food inside. But we deliver outside. Its a perk for purchasing a season parking pass. Of course you have access to the lake and horseshoe pits at no additional charge. But we are looking at seating on the deck as an additional revenue stream in the future.

I'm just saying we don't need to build a stadium the same caliber as Alabama to be competitive. We would likely be competing with teams of the MAC caliber or Mountain West. A larger dome would be competitive against teams like Wyoming or Ball State... much less MVFC teams
