We could build the stadium on stilts and have it float above downtown, like a 2nd level. It would have to be taller than Block 9 and The Radisson and you would need ramps to drive up to the huge structure. What an awesome view! My sky bar dream would finally come true

On the positive side, Downtown would be enclosed and similar to a mall. What a great way to stay out of the rain and save on snow removal

I bet would could add bungee jumping or some extreme slides to it. I like the idea

Downside is all the grass and trees would die

The dome would fit there, but you can fit 6 Fargodomes on the existing site for parking. Squeeze 5 more Fargodomes on that land and now we're talking

Although we need 2nd street because there is a flood wall there and we'd have to convince the city to tear down a brand new city hall and the developer to tear down some 2 year old million dollar condos with river views.

The only way to build a stadium near downtown is to tear up the unicorn park neighborhood west of University drive.
It's OK to not be OK.

If you modify your perspective on the associated parking needs, a 35,000 capacity stadium can certainly fit downtown.

Think people are pissed off at the wait times now to park and leave from the stadium????? Oh just think about not having tail gate.

    LOL Not happening.

You leave mid 3rd quarter to beat traffic as well?

It would be an interesting exercise to see any potential designs. You'd most likely need to eliminate some roadway as the Sanford and city hall blocks are the only blocks currently large enough. Not completely unheard of as they cut off 3rd ave for the city hall project.

You could elevate the entire stadium with helium balloons and have a giant bison that would fart fireworks towards Jamestown's Bison World balloon ride every time NDSU scores!
