Looking good Billy Ray!
Hope you feel they are cutting it quite close. What happens if a major portion of the big scoreboard is damaged or they both have common latent defects that are found during install and test? Not much time to get replacement parts and reinstall / test system prior to August 27.
Possible, but unlikely. I'm sure the board panels are tested prior to shipping, and it's not like they've never shipped panels before. Short of the truck getting into an accident on the way here, it's very unlikely the boards will arrive damaged. Besides, not much can be done about the schedule. The FD is busy even in the summer, and you can't exactly install the boards while events are going on.
Some say it's a backward place. Narrow minds on a narrow way, but I make it a point to say. That that's where I come from.
Look how long it took the field turf guys to get us a replacement when the flaw was discovered in the first turf they put in... I'm pretty sure Daktronics isn't going to want to go down on ESPN either and will do everything they can to make sure they make it here in working order and if not will do what they can to make it right. Good thing is it's only a few hours drive to Brookings. Guess I don't know where they get their components from would imagine they "stock" a lot of that though. Like Hammersmith said. Very likely they test all of the panels prior to shipping so only issue would be damage enroute or during install which I believe is all done by them? So they're going to have people know what they're doing, not going to be some local "cheap" Joe Blow Contractor installing them.
Wasn't it the SDSU game down there a few years ago when they put in their big new scoreboard that a chunk of it went out and wasn't working during the NDSU game. Or was it a ball hit it and it quite working or something like that. I vaguely remember some problem. Maybe I tailgated to hard and parts of it were just blacking out for me.
