If they added premium suites up top as part of an addition, they would. It was mentioned some of the current big money seats could be moved up top. But yeah I don't think we get anything for the current suites.

I asked TM about a suite when I first reconnected with NDSU. I was told to contact the dome as they make those arrangements and get the money---revenue. The dome also gets a cut of the tailgate parking.

The dome controls the suites, and gets the money. Only thing NDSU gets from them is ticket revenue. It's one of the biggest reasons to build a NDSU owned stadium.

If NDSU were to control the suites they would also get the 5-figure sums each suite goes for each year.

Would they still be 5 figure sums in an NDSU owned stadium? 6-9 football games vs all annual events in the Fargodome. The Fargodome suites would seem to be more valuable.

Easily 5 figures. And there would be other events at an NDSU owned stadium, which NDSU would get a cut of.

Also: revenue from club seating, higher cut from concessions, higher cut from tailgating, expanded tailgating options, additional saleable sponsorship space, permanent team store...

The market picked up because the money making model for musicians now favors performance over merchandising sales.

There is all sorts of talent available the question becomes what facilities will the talent play in.

I totally agree on the convention center. I don't think we need a convention center at all. What we need is a remodeled civic center (which is an awesome facility) and add ons to the dome like they have pictured. If they really need convention space, attach a fancy steel building to the civic center and we could have one for 5-10 million the size of the indoor track facility. Of course the downtown snobs would never allow a steel building downtown even though they can look pretty awesome if done with some creativity. Instead they want to overspend.
A downtown convention center will never bring in any major groups, it is too small.... lnot enough room to host vendors. As currently configured the dome can't bring in any major groups. While it has the floor space for vendors, it lacks actually conference space.

The best solution is to add on to the dome. And yes Fargo desperately needs a venue now that the hotel space is catching up to demand.
