You really think if TM got the suite money it would reduce TM seat fees????

You may have misunderstood me. I'm saying Teammakers doesn't get any suite fees. If they could get them for a new addition, I'm sure they would do both.

No doubt if city/dome money is used for additional suites, the dome would get the revenue from them.

Per the FargoDome Authority minutes from 5/29- they have allocated $300,000 for Architectural services fee for the R.L. Engebretson services.

"Architectural Services RFQ: The City Commission approved the contract with R.L. Engebretson along with a request from the Authority to use $300,000 from the surplus fund to cover the cost of the fee for architectural services. This item will be further discussed at upcoming meetings."

Additionally- they are looking to hire an agent for liability insurance for the yet to be determined construction project:

"Insurance RFQ Process/Timeline: Susan provided an overview of the timeline/process along with scope of services for a Request for Qualifications for hiring an agent to help select insurance coverages. Please see attachment. A general discussion ensued. The committee recommended that the evaluation should include making the Authority aware of any access to exclusive programs or markets as well as if any programs will be excluded. This item will be further discussed at upcoming meetings."

Seems like they're getting serious about doing.... something- and I don't think it's new bathrooms. Fingers crossed its something important
    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

Wish they would be a bit more transparent or clear on what they are needing an architect for. Seems like they always give the minimum information. I think the public should know what they are spending a large amount of money on. They cant possibly be spending 300k on an architect for friggin bathrooms

I thought maybe just for the new, bigger spoons. Liability insurance goes way up for bigger spoons...

Does anyone have any knowledge about architectural service fees for Stadiums/renovations? like is it typically 1% of the construction cost? 3%? 10%? I have no knowledge regarding this, however if someone else does, we can simply divide $300,000 by whatever a normal rate is to try and get a scope of what they're trying to build.

Mizzou endzone renovation of 100 Million used a fee of 5%. $300,000/5% is $6,000,000. If the fee is 2.5% the estimated cost is $12,000,000 etc.

    http://kfgo.com/news/articles/2018/m...to-be-studied/

KFGO says they are looking to address the following "Immediate Needs":
Dome Exec. Dir. Rob Sobolik says restroom upgrades, more seating for Bison football and new administrative office space are among the most immediate priorities with expansion of the 27 year-old building a possibility.

"Likely to the south as we continue talks, the discussions about the definite need for more meeting space, square footage, contiguous meeting space in the region, Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, to look at potentially adding a large space to the south of the building that would be able to help bring larger conferences, meetings, conventions to town," said Sobolik.

The article also says this is a pre-design fee, so presumably, this is much larger than a $6,000,000 project.

Additionally, the article said that they are considering a 30-50,000 sq ft convention space on the south side which would presumably meet all of the needs stated above. For reference, the convention center at the premier center in Sioux Falls is 45,000 sq ft, so pretty big.

    This could actually be cool
