After that, the next big project will be a basketball specific arena. The SHAC isn't going to get us into the MVC/MWC/MAC. Scheels arena will be a great home for wrestling and Volleyball, but let's face it, that project was a boondoggle and won't get us where we want to go long term. It's the third best arena out of the four Dakota schools. Anyways, after that, the Dome will have to be addressed.
Can't see basketball before football since we just did basketball, boondoggle or not. Donors would never go for it.

I think the shac is good enough but I agree it won't wow any of those conferences. If the place sells out regularly it might be but trying to build another arena until that happens is just silly. The capacity is just fine but it lacks suites and permanent seats. Curious if they could figure out a way to do that.

Elliig needs some minor updates but track updates aren't really that expensive

We just need to get slightly over 20-21k seats and we will be fine. Unless someone has an extra 750 million laying around or want to risk not having a diversion and living in an ice like venice

Sick of retyping the same numbers that are very applicable and realistic to the discussion. Reality is the dome is not only one of the best home field advantages anywhere in college football, its a great recruiting tool, is nicer than it was when it was brand new with a 100 year life span, has NFL caliber video boards, great coaching offices, and is right up our alley for mid major football attendance. Instead of discussing a pipe dream of a 600 million dollar indoor stadium we will never afford, I think we should focus on getting luxury suites and capacity towards 20-22k. That's a plan the dome can actually afford.

In the meantime we should discuss and push getting an IPF built, which will be the ultimate recruiting tool and will set us up if we ever make a FBS move

I wonder if we could remove the corner posts and add wrap around seating?

They can add about 1200 seats which would take it to almost 20,000. More importantly, they can add suites and club areas. Preliminary plans are already on the table.

Gotta love that maximum security prison look. Are those towers for the tailgating police to shoot rubber bullets at those who use glass containers?

They can also remove the north press box and add seats and they have talked about party decks and sweets in the corners

These are plans the dome could reasonably pursue

Paying for a 600 million dollar dome that would operate in the red and put the Fargodome in the red is not

I think it looks pretty epic. It gives suite revenue and rooftop revenue. Nice wind block semi heated area too.
