BR scouting report:
Dont let 3-5 record fool you, this team is good offensively.
Lost to Missouri State last week 51-41, ran the ball 40 times for 265, very good speed. Only passed the ball 22 times for 210 yards.
Key win, Beat UNI in OT on Homecoming 45-38. Salukis average 31+pts/game in the MVC, but average giving up 29 pts/game.
Players to watch on O,
QB - Chris Dieks #5, 1 of 25 to annually go to the Manning Passing Academy, good size at 65, 230 lbs, can run (10 rushes for 46 yards last week) QB sneak at goal line, passes effectively with there strong running game, can put up good numbers, distributes ball very well, by virtue of 8 players with 9.5+ yds per catch average.
RB - Shariff Harris #10, Transferred from Pittsburg, played only special teams there, top 10 RB in state of New Jersey, last game average 8.7yds/game.
RB - Steve Strother #28, 5-8, 178 lbs, small but break-away speed, deep threat, ran for 3.988 yds in HS. 25.3 yds/catch average.
WR- Jeff Evans #80, 13 yds/catch average receiver, can go deep.
RB - Lucien Walker #11, 6,215#, average 7yds/game rushing last week.
WR Joe Allaria #14, 6-2 195#, Pre Season all MVC, leads team with receptions with 46 in 8 games.
D & special teams looks average at best, can be scored upon.
NDSU D and special teams is the key, must contain their running game and play well has a unit to have a chance to win and keep score low.
If SIU turns this game into a track meet, I dont think NDSU can hang with SIU offensive fire power.
Good Luck and enjoy the game!
