Since neither side wants the diversion I think the solution is obvious. The diversion needs to go right down the middle.

Once they calculate the actual cost, they'll start protesting it.

Is that why 94% of Fargo voters added a 1/2 sales tax for flood control? That will raise about $200 million over 20 years. That vote certainly wasn't a protest.

Didn't Walaker say Fargo will pursue its own flood control with or without the diversion

The MN diversion won't necessarily protect Fargo from all sources of flood waters. The ND diversion will. It's pretty simple. Do we want to spend around a billion dollars for a half ass project or spend a little more to do it right?

There is no chance to get federal funding unless everyone is on board with the solution. It's obvious that the MN solution will be protested by many. I can already see lakes sending emails to all members of congress telling them how traffic on hwy 10 will be affected.

The ND side diversion would be the better long term solution and most likely the project that would have less opposition even though it would cross waterways and be much more complex to build. The Dilworth mayor is still a whiny beyotch.

I just want to see something get done, MN or ND, just build something that makes sense and can get the proper funding.

This and the Dilworth NIMBY crowd are making things difficult. Sad but true.
