    Default Vehicle Advice

Since I'm adding another little one to the family, the wife says we need a bigger SUV. I'm looking at anything with a 3rd row, no minivans. So far I have it narrowed down to a

    2006-2008 Honda Pilot
    2006-2008 Ford Expedition
    2005-2006 Chevy Tahoe
    2005-2007 Nissan Pathfinder
    Any year Canyonero

I'm turning to Bisonville to see if anyone has any first hand experience with any of these vehicles. Likes, dislikes, problems whatever.

I say a Wagon Queen Family Truckster would suffice.

Seriously, though, I have heard good things about the Honda Pilot.

Careful with that one. I hear they've had problems with unexplained fires.

I dislike drivers of Tahoes and Expeditions that can't park between the lines of a parking spot. I've heard they sometimes end up with a small pile of 20 penny nails under their tires when they do that.

My grandparents bought an '08 Pilot and I've driven it, really cool car to drive and I wouldn't mind buying one myself. Utilitarian, yet trendy.

    Also, congrats on the newcomer!

If I could afford one it would be Chevy Tahoe.
    Hondas and Fords suck
    Nissan Pathfinder too small.

Why not a Durango? I have been very happy with Chrysler products.

But out of your list I'd go with a Tahoe. A guy I work with has a Pilot, he likes the gas mileage, its a v6.

My Brother-In-Law has a Pilot. That is a nice rig for a family guy.

I own an older Tahoe and I love it. Unless they have changed the third row seats in the Tahoe, they are worthless for anybody but a midget.

The Expedition is rather big. I'd go for a Suburban if I went that size. Maybe I'm wrong and it is similar to a Tahoe but it just seems big and boxy.

We love our Suburban. Has never gotten below 15mpg (except on the E85 crap) and burning the CA40 additive we have gotten up to 22mpg. That's at 65mph which makes a big difference in the mileage. Very dependable and the extra room Sub vs Tahoe is well worth it.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

Ive had 6-7 Expeditions I think. I put on allot of miles. I pull a real heavy boat from here to TX and Canada. I also go places where you shouldnt take a vehicle. Ive only had ONE problem. I dropped an injector and it was covered by warranty.
The new Expeditions 2008 and up have a new 6 speed auto trans that gets great gas mileage on the hwy. Anyone who has ridden with me has commented on how smooth the ride is and I have 10 ply tires.

As you can see I recommend the Expedtion.
